Hamilton Shaker Heater Cooler
Revolution has a driver for a Hamilton deck module identified as the Shaker Heater Cooler (SHHC) — a combined shaking and heating/cooling unit.
No published specifications
Section titled “No published specifications”Hamilton does not currently publish a product page under this name, so no temperature range, shaking speed, orbit or footprint is stated here. Reproducing figures from a neighbouring Hamilton module would be a guess, and a wrong specification is worse than an absent one.
For the modules Hamilton does document, see:
- Hamilton Heater Shaker — heating and shaking, one deck position
- Hamilton Heater Cooler — temperature control from 0 °C to 110 °C, one deck position
- Hamilton Incubator Shaker — multi-slot incubation and shaking
If you are specifying a system around an SHHC, confirm the unit’s ratings with Hamilton or with us before committing to a method — get in touch.
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”What Revolution can do with the unit is defined by the driver, and that much is certain:
- Set temperature — set the target plate temperature
- Set speed — set the shaking speed
- Set time — set the duration for the operation
- Start — begin with the values already set
- Get status — read the unit’s current state, so a schedule can wait on it
Parameters are set first and then started, so a schedule can stage a temperature and speed before the plate arrives.
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution talks to the SHHC over a serial connection.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- The unit must be cabled to the Revolution host and its COM port known before the device is initialised.
Device configuration
Section titled “Device configuration”| Property | Purpose |
|---|---|
| COM port | Serial port the unit is connected on |
If you need more of this instrument driven from a schedule, get in touch — the driver is extended on demand.
